Turn a document photo into a readable scan

For a form or receipt you already received — on your PC or phone.

1. Choose the photos

Save the original document photos from your chat or email. Open the document photo scanner, then choose or drop the files. On a PC, you can also copy a photo and press Ctrl+V in the scanner.

JPG, PNG and other formats supported by your browser can be used. Some HEIC photos need to be converted to JPG first. Keep the originals.

2. Check the four corners

The scanner looks for a flat sheet of paper. Review its guess before saving. Drag each circular handle to a paper corner if needed. On a keyboard, use 1–4 to select a corner and the arrow keys to move it; hold Shift for a larger move.

If a boundary is uncertain, Idorang keeps the full photo. Choose “Keep full photo” whenever cropping could remove text. Rotate the photo if needed.

3. Choose the finish and save

Color keeps colored stamps and ink. Gray can be easier to read when the source is faint. Black and white works best when the writing has clear contrast. “No enhancement” keeps the original brightness.

Select A4 or US Letter for PDF and printing. Use “Save PDF” for one document, or “Save images” for separate JPG files. Landscape photos use landscape PDF pages. Each photo is fitted to the page without cropping the result.

Know the limits

This tool straightens pages and reduces shadows. It cannot restore blurred letters, recover missing content outside the photo, flatten a curved book page perfectly, or turn handwriting into editable text. A PDF contains page images, not searchable OCR text.

Chat apps may compress photos. When text is already hard to read, request the original file from the sender. Check every exported page before using it.

If saving does not work

Open the page in Chrome, Edge, Safari or your usual browser rather than the browser inside a messaging app. Try fewer photos at once if your phone runs out of memory. Saving does not send the document. To share it, attach the saved file in your chat.
